In addition to learning about Khana Khane Ki Dua, here you will also get answer to a question which children frequently ask their parents:
What should I do If I forget to recite the prayer to eat food before I begin to take my meal?
Obviously, the prayer you recite as you begin taking your meal is “Bismillah”. It can be translated as “(I begin) with the name of Allah (Azawajal)”.
It has been narrated in Hadith No. 1858 in the book of At-Tirmidhi – one of the books of Sahih Ahadees – that the Rasool (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised his companions and followers to recite “Bismillah” prior to they begin eating (or drinking) something.
The prayer in its complete form is, “Bismillah-i-Rahman-i-Raheem”. It means, “(I begin) with the name of Allah who is the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful”.
In the Hadith quoted above, the Rasool (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also guided the Muslims regarding what to say if they forget to recite “Bismillah” in the beginning of their meals. Following is the prayer that you need to recite in the middle of a meal in case you forget to say “Bismillah”.
“Bismillahi Fi Awwal-i-Hi wa Aakhir-i-Hi”. It means, “(I start) with the name of Allah (Azawajal) in the beginning and at the end.”
