Having Iman or being Muslim is the greatest blessing of Almighty Allah. But as achieving a status is not as important as maintaining it, you always need be careful about protecting your belief. Being a Muslim is just the beginning, you have a long, troublesome, and tiresome journey ahead.
To have an idea about the nature of hardships lying on the way ahead, you can study the life of the Allah’s Rasool (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He had to pass through sufferings of immeasurable magnitude to attain the status of being the greatest human being ever. His (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) life is replete with the examples regarding how we should guard our faith.
Satin (Shaitan Iblees), the worst enemy of man, is always trying to lead the faithful astray. And as a believer strays from the right path, he celebrates it as his greatest success.
While the threat of Shaitan Iblees is always there, a believer has been advised in a Hadith Sharif to recite verse 3 of chapter 57 (Surah Al-Hadid) of the Noble Quran as Dua for Iman. Its English translation is as under:
“He (Allah) is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing.”
