Did you know the relation that gets greatest focus and emphasis in the Noble Quran is that of husband and wife? But why does Almighty Allah put that much emphasis.
on this relationship when a nobler relation also exists, which of mother and children?
The thing is that the bond between a husband and wife is the most sensitive one. It is just as weak as it is strong. In other words, there is as much repulsion in it as there is attraction. The second reason is possibly that Allah Almighty has made this union of a man and a woman as a source of propagating the human race on the planet earth.
In verse 13 of chapter 49 (Surah Al-Hujurat), Allah Subhana Wa Ta’la says:
“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples (families) and tribes (so) that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.”
The success of marriage depends on the mutual commitment, understanding, and, most importantly, individual effort on the part of both the husband and wife to fulfil their obligation to each other. Secondly, at least one of them (especially husband) should develop a sense of compromise and show patience at various occasions.
Meanwhile, you always need to seek Divine help – through Dua for husband or wife – for the success, prosperity, purity, and mutual love.
Here is the English translation of the Quranic dua for husband.
“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection (love) and mercy. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thought.”
